February 2011 Cumulative Updates for SharePoint Foundation 2010 and SharePoint Server 2010
I wasn’t sure where to post this, but I have a SharePoint question that I hope you can help me with. We have SharePoint Server 2010 with a SQL Server 2008 R2 back end. Is it possible to use a user-defined stored procedure to insert or update data in an external database via external content types? We have no problem retrieving data from an external database but can’t seem to perform inserts or updates on the data using a stored procedure. If it’s possible, can you point me in the right direction on how to do it? By the way, we’re pretty new to SharePoint.
